Los Angeles Solidarity Vigil

This Coalition For World Peace action was in conjunction with the historic, half-million-plus, peace march in New York City. It was a nice day in Palisades Park, and we had a very successful event attracting several hundred people from other organizations and the public to protest the war agenda and hear announcements from New York.

The park's old cannon seemed like a good meeting place.

We had to have a little 60s-retro fun with the cannon.

Elke Heitmeyer (L, holding mike) kicked things off.
